John Klang’s killer will not be receiving a new trial. Sauk County (WI) Circuit Court Judge Patrick Taggart said in a written ruling that Eric Hainstock received a fair trial for the shooting death of Principal Klang in the halls of Weston High School. Judge Taggart said that the jury had plenty of other evidence that showed Hainstock was intent on killing Klang.

“There is the physical evidence of the multiple shots delivered in close contact to the victim,” he writes. “Hainstock’s statements to others that Klang would not live to see homecoming (that evening), defendant’s statements to the janitor that he was there with two weapons to “(expletive) kill someone.”

Hainstock, who was 15 at the time of the 2006 murder, is serving a life sentence.

14-year-old Michael Yates claims that it was the ‘voices in his head’ that led him to slash the throat of Mallory Haulman at Montrose High School. Really Skippy? That’s the best you could come up with? This is far from the first time someone has claimed ‘head voices’ when they’ve committed an act of violence like this at a school. I believe everyone who has tried it is sitting in jail.

Since Yates was charged as an adult he’s looking at 48-years behind bars.

When Munguia’s girlfriend had enough and left him, the FBI says he lured her back to his home and killed her, now adding murder to his long list of charges.

If that wasn’t bad enough someone posted a follow up that said they wished they could have been one of his victims.

If your life revolves around the idolization of school shooters you need help. It’s that black and white. It’s wrong.

The Kentucky Supreme Court rejected a request from Paducah gunman Michael Carneal to have anew competency hearing. The now 25-year-old Carneal recently claimed, 11 years after the Paducah shootings, that at the time he shot up Heath High School he was mentally ill and that his lawyer was ineffective counsel at the the time of his guilty plea

Carneal argued that he was unable to reveal that he was hearing voices at the time of the shooting and guilty plea because of his mental illness. Justice Bill Cunningham, writing for the court, was unpersuaded, saying the claims rest solely on what Carneal says, not any outside evidence creating “a conceptual ‘Catch-22′.”

It’s always nice to see that some judges still have common sense. Especially considering that the kids he killed Nicole Hadley, Jessica James and Kayce Steger, don’t have the luxury of appealing their death sentence.

Carneal will be up for parole in 2023.

New Orleans has been ranked the most crime-ridden city in the U.S. beating such luminaries as Detroit and Gary, Indiana, but that’s not the real story.

The real story is that the perennial favorite from my home state of New Jersey has been ranked #2. That’s right, after a few rebuilding years after being ranked first two years in a row Camden, New Jersey has almost returned to the top spot.

I guess they’ll have to start a few more fires next year. I also like what I read in the FARK thread yesterday that one day Camden will one day jump the river and rape Philadelphia.

Again we have another case of a Barney Fife misusing his toys while off duty. This time it was West Viriginia police officer Sgt. Steve Smith. He was fired for using his Taser not only on a firefighter because it was his birthday. He also used it on pregnant 18-year-old but at the lowest setting and probably in stun gun mode and not using the prongs. Not that that’s any better.

C’mon guys, get back to Tasering the criminals.
